Kirby is a standard Nintendo icon, and I will be frank and admit that outside of Smash Bros I have no experience with the cream-puff extraordinaire. Basically, back then; I thought it was a girl’s game because he (it) was pink and cute. Having said that, once I picked this game up, it was hard to play anything else! The biggest hook being the unique and creative art design of the game. It’s fun just to look at! Every character, surface and item in the game is made of yarn, patchwork cloth, buttons and things of the sort, which surprisingly works beautifully. The game-play is solid fun too; the whole theme is woven into the game-play making it a unique platforming experience. The one drawback is that it is easy…incredibly easy. So easy you can’t die, which fortunately makes this game perfect for young kids and getting your normally game-phobic girlfriend into gaming. Did I mention it’s two-player? And that Kirby can turn into a bunch of different things like a giant tank or dolphin? Yup, it’s a load of simple pink fun for anyone and if you have a Wii I suspect this is your kind of game anyways.
